Looking for LIVE Parent Workshops?

Neurodivergent kids don’t come with a roadmap—

So I created one.

This on-demand course is for parents of newly-diagnosed neurodivergent kids who are not sure what to do next. If your child was recently identified as autistic, ADHD, or twice-exceptional, this course is for you…especially if your head is still swirling after the diagnostic feedback session. It’s going to be ok. Welcome!

Hear what it’s all about in the video

I understand how overwhelming it feels to learn that your child needs something different to succeed. I know how stressful it can be to live with an impulsive, aggressive, or highly-emotional child. I know because I’m a parent who has been exactly where you are right now feeling all the things.

I’m also a child psychologist and former school psychologist who has helped hundreds of families better understand their child, build their support team, and learn to celebrate a life that’s more joyful than any you could have imagined.

In this on-demand course, I give you all the tools you need to understand your child’s skills, shift your parenting mindset from how you were parented to parenting your child, navigating your child’s emotions in the context of learning challenges, and how to take care of yourself along the way.

Are you ready to feel more capable on this new parenting journey?

What Parents Are Saying…

  • “What I loved about this course is that you address so many of the things that we as parents need to learn but really have no where to go to learn it. I wish I hard learned these things earlier on.”

What will I learn in this course?

  • How to review your child’s evaluation reports and map out their skills, strengths, and needs for support

  • When and how to talk with your child about their brain in a way that promotes self-acceptance and self-advocacy

  • How learning, emotions, and behaviors are connected, which will leave you feeling more confident

  • All about the art of setting limits with a sensitive child who craves co-regulation but also needs structure to foster independence

  • How to celebrate all the wins and build a village of support that does the same

This course is right for you if:

  • Your child has recently been identified as autistic, ADHD, twice-exceptional, has anxiety, learning disabilities, or sensory professing differences and you are feeling overwhelmed by what to do next.

  • You are trying to parent your child with a traditional model of rewards and consequences and it's just not working.

  • You are interested to learn more about maintaining a positive relationship with your child when they experience big feelings and explosive reactions but you’re not sure which behaviors are intentional and what is related to their disability.

  • You want to learn more about how behaviors are connected to anxiety, sensory differences, and frustration related to learning new skills both at school and at home.

  • You want to learn how to teach your child about their brain, motivate them, and build a supportive community to celebrate your child on their journey of growing up in a world that isn’t build for them…yet.

Meet Dr. Emily

As a child psychologist, and former school psychologist, I’m here to help! I’ve spent the last 20 years working with neurodivergent children and teens along with their families and teachers in schools and private practice.

Children I have worked with over the years have taught me so much and so have their parents. Yet, I have another teacher. My son has taught me everything I didn’t learn in graduate school.

I’ve sat on both sides of the IEP table, first as a school psychologist and then as a parent. I know the feeling of thinking you are out of ideas to support your child. This feeling inspired my passion for helping parents and educators collaborate so that all children can experience success.

Our kids are complex. Our families are complex. There is so much information out there for parents, but we are ultimately the decision-makers of the next best step in our child’s journey.

Together, I will help you find the balance between supporting your child and fostering their independence. In order to do this, we as the adults must also remain tuned in to our own mental wellness so that we can show up with the energy needed for this parenting journey. Let’s get started!
